A Message from Beyond Diving Regarding COVID-19 Pandemic

Beyond Diving Logo

Dear Friends,

It is no secret that the world has changed. Things we took for granted a few weeks, or even just a few days ago are different now.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we see and interact with the world around us. For some people around the world, it has completely stopped any form of interaction due to curfews and other government-imposed safety measures.

For us at Beyond Diving, your health and safety are our paramount concerns. This is why, should you choose to still travel and visit us, you can rest assured that the rental equipment in our stock is completely cleaned and sanitized after each use. We do so by submerging second stages, masks, snorkels, and BCD oral inflators in a 10% bleach solution as recommended by the WHO as well as the Centers for Disease Control.
All surfaces that are constantly touched and/or handled in our shop are also wiped clean with the same sanitizing solution.

We would not want to risk your health or ours, so we have taken it upon ourselves to ensure that our equipment and facility are safe for our guests.
Having said this, it is of paramount importance that if you have a booking with Beyond Diving, should any of our guests present with flu-like symptoms on any of the days of their activities, we will be forced to deny service, and contact the local health department. We might in fact be forced to shut down our operation, decontaminate and perhaps even self-quarantine due to this contact. So please, if you do have any signs of infection, or have been in contact with anybody who has tested positive for the virus, forgo your trip. Stay at home, self-quarantine and contact your local health department. Follow all government and WHO recommendations and stop the spread of the virus.

For the time being, Beyond Diving will continue its scuba diving operations in Playa del Carmen, and we will keep you all updated via our social media channels should this change at any point in the near future. We are in fact considering the possibility of not renting equipment to prevent any possible contamination.  Please stay tuned to our social media feeds for any updates.

Some tips to help you:

Thank you all, and may the force be with you! We wish you and all around you good health and safety. Remember, now is not the time to panic. Think of your friends, family, and neighbours.  Think of others before you go out and buy the entire stock of Lysol, toilet paper or food at your local stores.  We are all in this together!

Sincerely yours,

Erik Rosenstein
